Steps for Screening Stocks in Mergent Online

Mergent Online equity screening

  1. Select Advanced Search
  2. Browse through the tabs to find criteria you'd like to screen for; see especially the Financials, Industry Codes, Pricing, and Ratios tabs
  3. Find a criterion you want to use, select the operator and/or input a value, and Submit
  4. Add criteria sequentially, and when you've narrowed appropriately, hit the View link to view your stocks
  5. Click into individual companies or equities to explore, or download the list to Excel.

Note: Mergent Online can be slow to respond at times, and the stock screening tool can appear to be "stuck." If it spins for a while, try to use the browser's Refresh button to see if that will generate the results display.
