Winner Speeches

The text of speeches given by each year's winner of the Caldecott and Newbery (and other American Library Association) awards can be found in the summer issue of Horn Book Magazine and Children and Libraries. Both are available in the Professional Development Collection. Click the link below and search for the journal name under "publications" at the top, then click on the title to see a list of years and issues available.

Introduction

Each year books are selected as award winners, or are selected for "Best Books of the Year" lists. Here are some print and online sources to consult for the latest winners or lists.  The awards featured here are all given by U.S. entities.  There are several international or multicultural awards under the "Multicultural & International" tab above.
