St. Thomas students, faculty, and staff may request (free of charge) books, articles, and other library material not available at St. Thomas from other libraries via Interlibrary Loan. Libraries nationwide cooperate to share materials, so you don't even need to know which other library has the material you want--we track that down for you.
Check out the Interlibrary Loan webpage for more details.
Questions about Interlibrary Loan? Ask Bekah at the OSF Library or send an email to libillosf@stthomas.edu.
1. Make sure you are logged in to your LibrarySearch account (NOTE: if you are helping a patron, make sure they are logged into THEIR account when making request).
2. Request options will look something like this:
3. If your search turns up empty, try the new options to expand your search at the top of your search results:
4. Receive your PDF articles & book chapters via a link emailed to you. Similarly, an email notification for print books will be sent when an item is ready for pick-up at the library.
Patrons may request to renew an item borrowed from another library through Interlibrary Loan. Renewal requests are sent to the library that owns the item (the lending library). The lending library will decide whether or not to grant a renewal. Reminder - do not manually change the due date for an Interlibrary Loan item. Due dates (original and renewals) are set by the lending library and the UST Libraries must adhere to them.
There are two ways to request a renewal:
1. Contact UST Library Interlibrary Loan directly
2. Request using your My Library account
