LibGuide Accessibility

This guide was created as part of the Summer 2024 Digital Accessibility Ambassador program, with it's aim to support librarians who create libguides for courses that support faculty and students at St. Thomas.

About Accessibility

Accessibility is a fundamental design goal that aims to maximize access and remove barriers for all users, regardless of their abilities or circumstances. It goes beyond merely accommodating users with disabilities; instead, it recognizes that people exist along a diverse spectrum of physical, cognitive, sensory, and perceptual experiences. These experiences can be permanent, temporary, situational, or episodic. In essence, designing for accessibility means designing for everyone.

This guide was created in the summer of 2024 to assist librarians in creating and maintaining accessible digital library guides.
