Emerging Technologies in Business: Getting Started

This guide will highlight resources to help you learn about and keep current on emerging technologies in the business world.

This guide is designed to help you learn about and keep current on emerging technologies in business. Each tab (page) covers a different technology. The left side of each page provides you with tools and search strategy ideas for discovering up-to-date content on these topics from the Libraries' collections. The right side of each page presents a small selection of readings and videos covering the topic.

We envision this guide to be useful for students to use in learning about and researching these technologies and for faculty to use in selecting related content to use in courses. As always, if we can be of assistance, please contact us.

PwC's Essential Eight Technologies

The structure of this guide relies heavily on PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) "Eight emerging technologies and six convergence themes you need to know about," which they suggest comprise:

Artificial intelligence Internet of things
Augmented reality Robotics
Blockchain Virtual reality
Drones 3-D printing

The Essential Eight Technologies

While the Essential Eight framework provided the initial structure for this guide, we've expanded it to embrace other emerging technologies. We expect it to continually evolve.
