Tests, Surveys, and Measurements in PsycInfo

Many tests and surveys are included in the original article that developed or used the test. These are non-commercial tests and can be used in your assignment.

PsycInfo will include the names of all tests used in the research and will indicate that a test us included in the article with the term "appended" next to the test.

  1. Search for the construct (e.g fatigue) in the regular boxes at the top of the page.
  2. Type in appended in the tests & measurements box in the center of the page

When you get the list of results...

  1. Scroll down on the left hand side of the page
  2. Click on More Filters
  3. Click on More

Look at the list of Tests & Measures.

  1. Scroll to one that has your construct (fatigue) AND has "(appended)"
  2. Click on the Include box and Apply.
  3. Open the article that appears.
  4. Scroll down to the Tests and Measure section
  5. Tests that are included in the article will have the word "appended" next to the name
    1. Not all tests will be included in the article
    2. Find a test that seems to include your construct

  2. The test is usually included in the appendix, but you might have to look in the article (in the Methods section, for example) to find the questions used in the article.Look in the appendix of the paper

We are pilot testing PsycTests for St Thomas. Searching with PsycTests will be a gillion times easier than looking for rating scales, measures, tests, surveys, and interview questions in PsycInfo.

We only have PsycTests until March 3, 2025, so make sure you look for your tests & measures before then!
