How to use CINAHL: What is CINAHL?

An overview of using CINAHL to find information on nursing and other health disciplines.

What is CINAHL?

CINAHL stands for Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature. In addition to nursing, CINAHL is a great database to use for any health related topic, including human biology, exercise science, health administration, public health, and more.

Why use CINAHL?

CINAHL emphasizes nursing and allied health disciplines. There is an overlap of coverage between CINAHL and PubMed. When searching CINAHL, you can limit your search to material NOT in PubMed by utilizing the "Exclude Medline Records" option.
