LibrarySearch.stthomas.edu is the University of St. Thomas libraries' simple, one-stop search for books, articles, videos, recordings, and more. 

LibrarySearch has two main functions:

  • It’s a discovery tool that helps you search for books, articles, media, and other library resources
  • It’s your library account system for managing your check-outs, renewals, and hold requests

Newspapers articles are not included in the search results.  To find newspaper articles, choose “Newspapers” from the top of the screen, or, after running your search, click “Newspaper search” at the bottom of the page or on the left side of the screen.

 

 

Sign In

Sign in to LibrarySearch using your UST username and password.

Signing in allows you to:

  • View Full-Text of licensed content
  • Renew loans
  • Place requests
  • Access your library record
  • Save searches for future retrieval
  • Save records to your folder
  • Display additional journal database records

How to Search

  1. Look for a specific database.  Useful when you have a particular topic in mind (i.e. social sciences, criminal justice, etc.)
  2. Look up articles in a specific Journal that UST has access to (e.g. Journal of American Medicine)
  3. Look for newspaper articles by click Newspapers, or, after running your search, click “Newspaper search” at the bottom of the page or on the left side of the screen.
  4. Run a search. Search by title (if you know it) or keywords.
  5. Run an advanced search. Use connectors and limiters to get to the information you need faster.

 

 

See all the resources St. Thomas has available on a particular subject.  Search by subject by:

  1. Choose Advanced Search and then change the dropdown to "Subject". Enter in your subject and click Search.
    OR
  2. When looking at a resource, use the filters on the left-hand side for the subjects associated with the resource, and filter by those for more relevant books and articles.
