Getting Ready to Vote

The first step to casting your ballot on Nov. 3rd is registering to vote.

Now that you are registered, you need to know where to go and how to do it.

And now make sure you know what you are voting for!

Be prepared for Rank Choice Voting in some MN cities.

Minneapolis and Saint Paul use Ranked Choice Voting in certain municipal elections, and Duluth is currently deciding whether or not to use it.

Or, if you're not from Minnesota learn how to vote absentee!

Decide where you reside

Student Voters: Do I register my current address or my hometown address?

Your residence is the place you consider your home. As a college student, if you consider your campus residence as your home, you may vote at that address. If you consider your parents’ residence or some other address as your home, you must vote from that address. You can only vote from one address in each election. More.

Campus Resident Voters

A roster of all resident students has been provided to Ramsey County election officials. Resident students simply will need to show their student ID at one of the two polling locations listed below to register to vote.

Students living on north campus vote in McNeely Hall (Ward 4, Precinct 6 sample ballot).

Students living on south and mid-campus vote at the Groveland Recreation Center, 2021 St. Clair Ave. (Ward 4, Precinct 7 sample ballot).
