SimplyAnalytics: Exporting

A guide on how to use SimplyAnalytics

Exporting a Map

To export a map, select "Export" in the upper right corner. Follow the instructions. Select the size and orientation. You may also crop the map. Then select the Layout. Finally, select the format of the image and how you want to get it. Maps can be exported as PNG, JPEG, SVG, or PDF formats.

Exporting a Table

After you have created a table, you may export the data by clicking on the Export button in the upper right corner. Select format and how you want it delivered. Then click "Export" button. You can export the table to Excel, CSV, or DBF.

Exporting a Table with Many Variables

Sometimes you may create a table/report with many variables. While you may not see them all on the screen, you can download them. For example, while the Ranking Report screen display settings are limited to the top 10,000 responses (in the ranking menu at upper left of the results screen), if you set the limit at that level and go ahead with the Export, the resulting spreadsheet will actually extract the full dataset. This is important for a US-wide zip code level report, as there are some 36,000 zip codes in the US. It would work similarly for large extracts at the US level involving cities, zip codes, and census tracts.

NOTE:

Users are able to export 524,288 cells per week for each dataset and year. So for example, 524,288 cells per week of Community Demographics 2021, 524,288 cells per week of Consumer Expenditure Estimates, 2022, etc. While these limits are generous, if a user is using a small geography like zip codes for the entire USA (~32,000 ZCTAs that we use), you can reach the exporting limits quickly. If possible, filter your results: for example, show only larger zip codes.
