Library Resources and Services During the COVID-19 Outbreak: Open Resources during COVID-19

A guide to all of the many services and resources the library provides that are available online. Created March 13, 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic

Open Resources

Many of our vendors, publishers, and databases want to support our faculty and students when so many are unable to go to a library and are taking classes online. They've made some or all of their resources available for free.

Check to see if any of these resources might be helpful to you even if you weren't planning to use them this semester. Many publishers are allowing open access to every student, faculty, and staff whether or not the resource was already subscribed to or purchased.

This list will be continually updated, so check back.

You may need to set up a free account on these websites to access the materials.

  • What's included (under Description of Access or Resource(s))
  • Check to see who has access -- In some cases everyone has access. In other cases, only institutions that already have subscriptions to part of the resource (under Scope Limitations)
  • Check to see if you have to set up an account
  • Some resources are available only after the institution requests. Let us know if that is required. We might not be able to do this depending on what the publisher or vendor requires (under More Detail on Resource(s) or Limitations)

  • Offers expire on different dates. They may be extended depending on what happens with the pandemic. (under Expiration)
