THEO 373 - Person & Mission of Jesus: Christology

This course explores New Testament understandings of some of the titles of Jesus, such as Christ, Lord, and Savior, and investigates the development of Christological doctrine in the early centuries of Christianity.

Introduction

Christology traces the development of the expression of Christological faith from the New Testament and Patristic writings and the definitions of ecumenical councils.  It deepens one’s understanding of Jesus of Nazareth as the Christ of God and helps one gain an appreciation of the soteriological significance of Christology in contemporary thought.
