MRI-Simmons Catalyst: Getting Started

A guide to using Simmons.

Special Note About MRI-Simmons Platform Upgrade

MRI-Simmons recently updated the Insights platform (version 1.0) to the Catalyst platform (version 2.0). MRI-Simmons Catalyst now defaults to the new Catalyst platform, which can be recognized by its purple side navigation. To switch from Catalyst to Insights, click on the [Launch 1.0] button in the top navigation bar. To switch from Insights to Catalyst, click on the [Launch 2.0] button. This guide includes instructions for both platforms (in progress.)

What is MRI-Simmons Catalyst?

MRI Simmons-Catalyst is a resource containing data about consumer behavior, media consumption, and attitudes.

Some examples of how you can use data and reports from MRI-Simmons Catalyst:

  • Generate a demographic profile of your target consumer
  • Identify the target market for a product
  • Find out which consumers are more likely to use a specific brand, have a specific interest, or engage in a specific activity
  • Identify the best media channels to reach your target audience
  • Understand the psychographics (interests, opinions, attitudes, behaviors) associated with your target customer

Crosstab
Crosstab allows you to customize a target audience and find your target audience's demographics, psychographics, consumption, and other behaviors.

Quick Reports
Quick Reports provide various charts about your target audience, including charts about their demographic profile and segmentation.

Brand Catalyst
Brand Catalyst lets you look at target audiences/segmentation by generating consumer personas and brand insights without the need to create crosstabs.
